Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Now that you are engaged, invest in your marriage and learn all that you can
about your fiancé and their expectations of marriage before you say ‘I do’.
Benefits of Premarital Counseling:

Many couples are ready to prepare for the wedding, but they often forget about preparing for their
marriage.  54% of Florida's marriages end in divorce each year.  Those couples that attend premarital
counseling and use the skills provided are less likely to end in divorce.  Your marriage can work and I
can help!

In Premarital Counseling you will:

  • Strengthen communication skills
  • Learn how to resolve conflicts effectively
  • Develop a financial management plan
  • Explore each person's expectations of marriage
  • Explore plans and ideals for parenting
  • Discuss personal, couple, and family goals

Choose a counselor that is certified in premarital counseling to help you through this process.

Here are some common questions that people have about Premarital
Counseling…

What are the benefits of going to premarital counseling?

Premarital Counseling is the best and most rewarding investment that you will make in your life. It will
help you have a better understanding of yourself and your fiancé before you enter into marriage.
While you are learning about how to have a successful marriage, you will also get a $30 discount off
your marriage license once you complete premarital counseling.

How can premarital counseling benefit my relationship?

Premarital Counseling will…

  • Help you learn more about your fiancé and their expectations in marriage
  • Give you skills that will help you work through difficult times in your marriage
  • Develop a plan on how to deal with conflict and how to improve your communication
  • Increase your relationship connection and emotional intimacy
  • Gain a better understanding of marriage “after you say I do”

When should I start premarital counseling?

You should take premarital counseling as soon as possible.  The more time that you have to talk
about your marriage, the better choices you can make for your marriage and relationship.

What types of premarital counseling is available?

There are two different types of premarital counseling services that I provide.  One is in a seminar
format where you learn about skills necessary to have a successful marriage in a group format with
other engaged couples. If you prefer one on one counseling, that is also available.  This option is
allows you to take an assessment that asks questions about what you expect in marriage and areas
that you both can work on to strengthen your relationship as well as areas that are already strengths
in your relationship.
