About Your Counselor:
Monica Clayton earned her Masters Degree in Marriage
and Family Therapy from the University of Central Florida.
Monica is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist within
the State of Florida.
Monica specializes in couples, marriage, individual, and
family counseling. Monica also has specialized training in
sexual abuse trauma treatment and trauma focused
cognitive behavioral therapy. Monica is a certified
PREPARE/ENRICH pre-marital and marital enrichment
counselor as well as a Certified 'PAIRS' Leader/ Instructor
for marital enrichment and emotional literacy and intimacy
and is also a Certified PREP, Relationship Enhancement
and Divorce Prevention Program facilitator.
Monica firmly believes in giving back to the community and
participates in a research program at a local university
designed to provide marital education courses to others in
the community.
As a former OCPS ESE Educator, Monica truly understands
the struggles that many parents face, especially those of
special needs. One of her professional interests also
include working with individuals and families for the elderly
and those with special needs.
